Where do I start? I will be forever grateful to my brother for introducing me to crossfit, for one thing. He’s been such a great inspiration and coach and I will miss him dearly. He’s a man of many talents; not only a great coach, husband and father, but an amazing guitar player as well, our late nights at his house “jamming” and being ridiculously silly is one of my best memories. My brother has been making me laugh since the day he was born. Love you, little bro!

I always enjoyed watching him go head to head with his wife in any wod they were able to do together. He’s easy-going and honest, so it’s a pleasure when we get to chat. I’m going to miss that. When you grow tired of all that Florida sunshine, I hope you’ll all come back to visit! Congratulations and thank you for serving our great country, Scott!

Thank you Scott for all your very fun and creative yet very hard Sunday wods. Even if I could barely move I wouldn’t want to miss your Sunday class, you are a great coach. You and the Sunday crew deffintly got me hooked, thanks again for pushing me and all your help.

Congratulations on your retirement and the best of luck at your next stage of life. Bummer your taking your coaching talents elsewhere but whomever you work with will quickly learn to appreciate it.

Congrats Scott! I do not just remember Scott and his participation in the CFV community, but his entire family always had a positive presence and it was always delivered with a smile. One thing I will never forget is when Scott talked me into doing “Manion” on a Friday….I hated my legs all weekend, but I did not hate Scott, rather appreciated the fact that he is always pushing people.

Chief,

It’s been a pleasure to have gotten to know you and your family. Your presence has been an inspiration of Navy leadership at it’s finest. I look forward to looking you up in the future in the event I make Chief. See you in Florida.

Ryan.

Favorite memory of Dawson: every darn Sunday. Doing so many grueling Wods and having the timer on the board reach 60min most times before the workout was even completed. I would just like to say “thank you” coach/ chief, for being an inspiration inside and outside the green walls. Best of luck to you and thank you for protecting this beautiful country.

Scottie – Was an honor coaching with you. It’s going to be very sad to not have you around the Box, but I’m sure our paths will cross down the road. I’m excited for you and your Family to grow even more in Florida. Take care of yourself and your girls. Your an inspiration to us all. My memory of Scott is his dedication to Muscle Ups. Every time I’m in the box, Scott is doing either regular muscle ups, or some crazy weighted MU workout. Take care Dawson Family.

Too many thank yous and memories to count when it comes to Scott’s contributions to the gym community. What I will remember most about you though is your compassion and willingness to help everyone around you be successful. Whether in the Navy, working with future soldiers, your family, or the rest of us here at the gym, Scott would give anything and everything to help others. If anyone around here was ever in need of a partner, teammate, or coach, you can bet that Chief would be the first in line to step up, no matter what. You and your family will be missed greatly around here. There is a special future gym somewhere in Florida filled with people that have no idea how fortunate they are to have the Dawson family heading East.

Scott, Cyndi, Bella and Emily – Wow, what a great family of great individuals. All so different, but all with the same amazing heart! I have been missing the female 3/4ths of Team Dawson, now sending off the male 1/4 too. So sad to see them go, but definitely better for having known them! I know Cyndi has been exerting her influence on the FL CF, helping them to “see the light”, now with Scott once again at her side, there is no way that sloppy technique or bad attitudes stand a chance! Give ’em heck, Dawson’s! Pave the way for future FL crossfitters!

I ALWAYS loved watching Scott and Cyndi team up together during WODs, it was so great to see such a powerhouse couple encouraging each other! It was also an awesome opportunity to see him attack Fran at our Level 1 Cert! Congrats on the retirement, Chief… enjoy the sun in Florida!
