We’re one week away from the 2017 CrossFit Games Open!

In case you’re new to the process, the CrossFit Games Open is the first stage of an annual worldwide competition to find the Fittest on Earth.  While the Open’s top performers advance to Regionals, one of the best parts about it is that the Open is for everyone!  Anyone interested in testing their fitness is invited to participate.  Divisions include scaled and prescribed, male and female individuals, co-ed teams, masters, and teenage athletes.

The Open consists of five workouts over the course of the next five weeks.  Each Thursday, that week’s event will be announced via the CrossFit Games website. Athletes then have until the following Monday at 5:00 PM to complete the workout and submit their score.

At CrossFit Fort Vancouver, everyone is invited to watch each week’s Open Announcement show here at the gym.  It takes place each Thursday at 5:00 PM.   We’ll do the workouts in all of the Friday classes and also at 10:00 AM on Saturdays. 

Because each Open event is our regularly-programmed Friday class workout of the day for the next five weeks, we highly encourage everyone to register games.crossfit.com and participate!  The cost is $20, but the inspiration, camaraderie, and improvement that takes place every year through the Open is priceless!

Since you’ll be doing the Open workouts every Friday you come in regardless of whether or not you’re signed up, why not register and have someone else worry about counting reps for you while you’re exercising!?

Whether your goal is the CrossFit Games podium or just to challenge yourself and do your best every day, the Open is a great place to start!  

Here’s how to sign up:

1. Go to https://games.crossfit.com/

2. Sign in (same email and password as last year) or create an account if this is your first Open.

3. Click “Register”

4. Choose “CrossFit Fort Vancouver” as your affiliate

5. Choose “CrossFit Fort Vancouver Farm Team” as your team

Come in on Fridays and compete!
