What an epic chili cook-off competition yesterday! Thanks to all the talented cooks and everyone who turned out and placed a vote! With 13 delicious crockpots full of various combinations of meat, beans, tomatoes, and plenty of secret ingredients, it wan’t easy narrowing it down to the top three.
When the votes were tallied, it was clear that Bryan Seekins brought the best beans in the bunch. Not only did his time-tested family recipe garner the most votes, his crockpot was scraped completely clean! Bryan’s secret? Many hours of Traeger-smoked brisket formed the foundation for the best chili in the house.
Second and third place tied in the voting, so it came down to the astute palates of the head judges: Colin, Valerie, and Allan. Eventually, Kirby and Cathy Doyle earned second, and Doug Matthews rounded out the podium with a strong third-place crockpot.
This was the first-ever CFV Potluck that included a chili cook-off and it did not disappoint. We knew this gym was full of fitness, but it turns out the skill this community has for making chili and *healthy* desserts is unbelievable!
