Are you someone who can clean more than you can jerk? Often times it’s not actually because of strength, it’s because of footwork!
When we jerk, there are 5 points of performance that simplify it:
1. The weight in the front foot should be balanced, but slightly towards the heels.
2. The front knee should be over the heel, or slightly back. This makes it so the front shin is vertical.
3. The torso is upright.
4. The back knee is bent.
5. The back heel is lifted off the ground.
A great way to improve is to slow it down, go back to working on the footwork without a barbell, and doing MANY reps. You can even do reps between your working sets!
