Hi, I am Jess Core and I am challenging you to get at least 10k steps a day for 30 days!
Walking is NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis) and it's awesome! While walking is a great tool to manage bodyweight, this walking challenge isn’t about calories burned or a number on the scale. It is about creating habits of movement instead of being sedentary. Our steps will be a visual reminder to get up and move even if it’s laps in your house! A simple glance at your watch to realize you are only at 2,000 steps for the day will get you off scrolling your phone to up and moving. It will be time with your kids, spouse, best friend or just time to yourself.
Who doesn't love to win some money? Registration is $20. Half the pot will go to The Way Foundation. The other half will go to the winner! Everyone that completes 10K steps all 30 days will be entered into a drawing with the winner chosen at random. In order to win, you must be able to show proof from an app that you did hit 10K steps for all 30 days. There will also be fun weekly drawings for prizes for simply being registered. The challenge will be Monday January 9th - February 7th.
